Ear Training

  1. Melodic dictation: Complete the melody.  The key signature, time signature, bar lines, and  first measure will be given.

  2. Intervals: Identify the intervals you hear by number and quality.  Major, minor, perfect or tritones within one octave will be given.  

  3. Triads: Identify the triads you hear. Major, minor, augmented, diminished triads in root position as well as clusters will be presented.  

  4. Rhythmic dictation: Complete the rhythmic pattern, consisting of eighth note triplets, dotted quarter notes, dotted eighth notes, eighth notes and sixteenth notes.  Ties will also be presented.
